How We Compose Kosher Gift Baskets

Great Neck and the surrounding North Shore communities are home to many families for whom kashrut is part of daily life, and we approach this responsibility with seriousness. Our atelier itself is not kosher-certified. Instead, the edible contents of our kosher gift baskets are selected from products that carry recognized kosher certification on their sealed packaging, allowing recipients to verify each item for themselves before enjoying it.

Clients are welcome to specify the hechsher they or their recipients rely upon, as well as preferences such as cholov Yisroel, pas Yisroel or pareve-only selections. We note these carefully at consultation and source accordingly. Fresh flowers, ribbon, containers and wrapping materials are not food, so they are chosen purely for beauty, while every consumable item remains in its original sealed, labeled packaging.

Gifts for the Jewish Calendar

Throughout the year, the holidays offer natural moments to send something beautiful. For Rosh Hashanah, we compose baskets around honey, apples, pomegranates and sweet confections to wish a good and sweet year. Purim calls for playful mishloach manot presentations, while Hanukkah invites deep blue and silver palettes, chocolate gelt and candles. Passover gifts can be arranged with products certified for the holiday when clients request it.

Beyond the holidays, kosher gifts mark life cycle events: a bar or bat mitzvah, a new baby, a wedding or a housewarming. We tailor these presentations to the family’s level of observance and to the moment, whether joyful, formal or quiet. Each design is finished with the same silk ribbons, fresh blooms and considered vessels that define all of our work.

What a Kosher Basket Might Hold

Contents vary with the occasion and the recipient’s preferences, but a typical composition might include certified chocolates, dried fruits, nuts, artisanal honey, biscotti, fine teas and freshly roasted coffee. Fresh fruit can be arranged beautifully alongside packaged goods. For celebrations, champagne-style non-alcoholic sparkling beverages bearing certification can be included with crystal glassware, creating a festive presentation suited to any table.

Non-food keepsakes add lasting meaning. A silver-toned Kiddush cup, a hand-poured Shabbat candle set, an embroidered challah cover or a honey dish can accompany the edible selections, turning the basket into something the family uses for years. We are glad to incorporate a Judaica piece the client already owns, building the composition around it with care so the heirloom remains the true center of the gift.

For Families, Synagogues and Businesses

Corporate clients on Long Island and in Manhattan often need gifts that respect the observance of colleagues and clients who keep kosher. We coordinate lists that include both kosher and non-kosher designs, labeling each clearly so there is no confusion at delivery. Synagogues and community organizations commission gifts for rabbis, board members, volunteers and honorees in the same thoughtful way.

Holiday seasons bring significant demand, so we encourage clients to reach out early with their dates and recipient counts. We will confirm timing and certification preferences before sourcing begins. Local delivery is available throughout Great Neck, Nassau County, Long Island and New York City, and we are mindful of Shabbat and yom tov when scheduling. Budgets are discussed at consultation.
