The Atelier Basket

Luxury Gift Baskets,Composed by Hand

A gift should arrive the way a gown leaves the atelier: finished to the last stitch.

Our luxury gift baskets begin as a conversation and end as an object worth keeping. Designed in Great Neck by creative director Lana Sverdlik, each composition is layered with fine confections, fragrant florals and considered keepsakes, then delivered across Nassau County, Long Island and New York City.

Luxury Gift Baskets Without a Catalog

There is no numbered menu here and no stock photograph you are expected to match. Every luxury gift basket that leaves the atelier is drafted for a single recipient, with attention to what they savor, the rooms they live in and the tone of the occasion. Lana listens first, then proposes a palette, a vessel and a selection of contents that feel personal rather than assembled. The result reads less like a delivery and more like a portrait of the person who sent it.

Clients often arrive with only a feeling: gratitude that needs a form, or a milestone that deserves ceremony. That is enough to begin. We translate impressions into materials, choosing between woven willow, lacquered hatboxes, clear acrylic cases and heirloom-style chests. Contents are edited with restraint, so each piece has room to be noticed. Nothing is added simply to fill space, and nothing is chosen because it happened to be on a shelf that week.

The Language of Materials

Texture carries as much meaning as the gift itself. We work with silk and double-faced satin ribbon, heavyweight papers, pressed tissue, velvet linings and hand-tied bows that are shaped rather than simply knotted. A champagne palette might pair brushed gold with ivory grosgrain; a darker composition may lean on black lacquer and deep emerald. These decisions are made slowly, at the worktable, where proportion and color can be judged in natural light instead of on a screen.

Florals come from the same creative circle as BonVivant Florists of Great Neck, which means blooms can be woven directly into the design rather than tucked in as an afterthought. Garden roses, spray orchids, ranunculus and seasonal branches soften structured containers and bring scent to the moment of opening. Where a recipient prefers no flowers, we let paper, ribbon and sculpted tissue do that romantic work instead, and the piece remains just as complete.

What Belongs Inside

Contents are sourced with an eye for quality and provenance. A composition might hold artisanal chocolates, delicate French-style macarons, small-batch honey, rare loose-leaf teas and freshly roasted coffee alongside a hand-poured candle or a linen keepsake. For celebrations, we can include champagne-style non-alcoholic sparkling beverages or a pair of crystal glassware flutes. Every element is tasted, handled or tested in the studio before it earns a place, because a single tired item undoes an otherwise beautiful gift.

Some clients prefer to supply a centerpiece of their own, such as a book with meaning, a piece of jewelry or a framed photograph. We build the basket around that treasure, choosing supporting pieces that frame it instead of competing with it. Dietary needs, allergies and preferences are noted at the outset, and gifts can be composed with products bearing recognized kosher certification when requested, with any preferred hechsher specified in advance.

Delivered Across Long Island and the City

Our couriers treat each piece as fragile, because it is. Local delivery is arranged throughout Great Neck, the wider Nassau County area, Long Island and the five boroughs of New York City, with destinations beyond by arrangement. We coordinate with doormen, concierge desks, event planners and office reception so the gift arrives composed and on time. Studio pickup is also available for clients who wish to present the basket in person.

Timing depends on the scope of the design and the season, so we ask clients to share their date early and we will confirm what is realistic. During the busiest weeks of the year, the calendar fills quickly, and an early conversation protects both the design and the delivery window. Budgets are discussed openly at consultation, allowing Lana to recommend where investment will make the most visible difference.

Luxury Gift Baskets FAQ

All FAQs
  • The sooner you reach out, the more freedom we have with sourcing and design. Share the date you have in mind and we will confirm what timing is realistic for the composition you want. Holiday seasons and major celebration weekends book early, so a conversation well ahead of those periods is always wise, though we do our best to accommodate thoughtful requests closer in.
